Session 1
Project was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shri Harcharan Singh, Chairman, HPL Ltd., Faridabad, in a session held on 7th December 2019. Session was attended by Shri Anil Chadha, Director, HPL Ltd., Faridabad, Ambassador LL Mehrotra, President (CIRC), Ambassador RP Singh, Secretary General (CIRC) & President of SUURHAE and a number of members of CIRC and SUURHAE and Mrs. Neetu Tyagi of Sarvam Shakti Foundation, C8/8293, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi.
The students of Sarvam Shakti Foundation sung national anthem and devotional songs. They were followed by welcome address of Vice Principal, Shri Hamindar Kumar, brief speeches of Ambassador LL Mehrotra, Shri Ravi Kalra, President of The Earth Saviours Foundation, Bandhwari Village and Shri Harcharan Singh who delivered an inspiring speech appreciating the work done by CIRC and SUURHAE for executing the earlier two projects in Bandhwari Village. He expressed the hope that they will do the same in Gwal Pahari School for the benefit of its villagers in general and the students in particular.
Thereafter, the topics of hygiene, cleanliness and environment were explained in greater detail to the students of all classes by the experts of CIRC and SUURHAE, namely Mohd. Iqbal Butt, Shri Vijay Bedi and Ms. Pooja Malik.
At the end of program, refreshments were served.
Session 2
Second session was held on 18th January, 2020 and was attended by Ambassador RP Singh, President of Society for Upliftment of Urban and Rural Health and Education (SUURHAE) and Secretary General of Centre for International Relations and Community Well-being (CIRC). A number of members of CIRC and SUURHAE, such as Dr. Reeta Wahi, Secretary (CIRC) , Shri OP Shemar, Vice President (SUURHAE) Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Principal, Kalka Institute for Research and Advanced Studies, New Delhi and Treasurer (SUURHAE), Smt. Krishna Singh, Ex-Principal and Ms Pooja Malick, Executive Members (SUURHAE), Smt. Navita Gupta, Arts & Craft Specialist from Rohini, New Delhi and Shri Dalbir Singh, Skill Development Expert from Dwarka, New Delhi (Special Invitees).
The process of various presentations and interactions with the school children was initiated by Ambassador RP Singh, President of SUURHAE and Secretary General (CIRC) with his brief address on talk on Psychological issues. Concerns of adolescents, Focus on girl education, Women empowerment, Skill development, Arts & Craft.
This session was divided in two parts due to certain sensitive issues. The ladies experts interacted with girl students, especially students from 6th to 9th and 11th classes on all the topics, mentioned above. The male experts, especially Dr. Mukesh Kumar and Shri Dalbir Singh talked to the boys of the same classes on the topics of psychological issues, concerns of adolescents, skill development and arts & crafts.
The program of the session ended with refreshments to all present.
Session 3
Third session of the project was organized on the 70th Anniversary of Republic of India on 26th January, 2020. Ambassador LL Mehrotra, President (CIRC), Ambassador RP Singh, President(SUURHAE), Shri Vijay Bedi, Executive Member of CIRC, Dr. Prem Chand, Professor, Delhi University and Secretary (SUURHAE) and his wife Sudesh Barwar, Executive Member of SUURHAE participated in this important event.
The program started with unfurling of the tri-colour flag of India at 10.00 am by the Principal of the school. This was followed by national anthem and devotional songs by the selected students both boys and girls of the school. The students gave a number of colourful performances including folk dances and Punjabi bhangra and gidha.
Earlier, the Principal, Smt. Nirmala Sheoran and Vice Principal Shri Hamindar Kumar welcomed all representatives of CIRC and SUURHAE and other guests of the village including Gram Pradhan.
Ambassador Mehrotra in his inspiring speech gave a brief background of the Republic Day and requested the audience, especially students to follow the principle of the Indian freedom fighters. Among others, he named Laxmi Bai Rani of Jhansi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Mahatma Gandhi who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the country. He said that though India`s declaration of independence was signed on 15th August, 1947, the constitution came into the effect on 26th January, 1950. He highly praised the students and the teachers for their hard work to celebrate the republic day.
Ambassador RP Singh said that the Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26th November, 1949 and came into being on 26th January, 1950 with a democratic government system, completing the country`s transition towards becoming an independent republic. He reminded the gathering that the 26th January was chosen as the date of Republic day because it was on this day in 1929 when the declaration of Indian independence was proclaimed.
Dr. Prem Chand, Professor also spoke on the occasion.
On behalf of CIRC and SUURHAE all children and teachers and other present were distributed sweets on this occasion.
