Hailing India's current stature at the global level, former diplomat Achal Malhotra claimed that India in a very determined manner conveyed it's stand to the USA over the ongoing issues at the G20 summit.
India-US relationship has gone through various phases and in the last five years it has been on the ascendancy.
When asked whether India was able to clarify itself to the Trump administration regarding the S400 missile system deal which they have been opposing for a long time, the former diplomat who has also served in Russia, claimed that during his joint press conference with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, India's External Affairs Minister made it clear that we won't compromise in the matters of national interest. On Iran, he claimed that India quite explicitly expressed its views. He called Iran more valuable to India than energy security only.He said, 'at a time when Pakistan is creating problems for us, Chabahar port which we are developing along with Iranian administration would be instrumental in providing us connectivity with Central Asia.'
